FAQ

Please get in touch with me through my contact form at the bottom of this page or via email. I’ll schedule a brief consultation to determine if my approach is a good fit and discuss next steps.

Our first meeting focuses on understanding what brings you in and what you’d like to work on. There’s no pressure to share everything at once. We move at a pace that feels right for you.

Most clients begin with weekly sessions, sometimes transitioning to bi-weekly sessions as progress is made. Length varies – some stay for a few months, others longer. We’ll review goals regularly and decide together when it feels right to slow down or pause.

Insurance participation varies. I currently accept a limited number of insurance plans. Insurance eligibility and benefits are verified before the first session, and clients are responsible for understanding their coverage.

Payments are processed electronically using credit, debit, or HSA cards. For private-pay clients, I can provide a receipt (also known as a superbill) for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or reschedules so that your time can be offered to another client. Sessions canceled late or missed entirely may be charged a fee.

Yes. Secure video sessions are available anywhere in Colorado. You’ll need a private space, a stable Internet connection, and a device with a camera. Some clients mix in-person and online sessions for flexibility.

I’m not a crisis or emergency-response therapist. My work focuses on ongoing support and recovery, rather than immediate intervention.

If you’re in crisis or need urgent help, contact 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), go to your nearest emergency department, or call 911.

If you need short-term stabilization, I can help connect you to local crisis or community resources.

Therapy works best when you feel comfortable with your therapist. The consultation call is a good way to get a sense of how I work. If at any point it doesn’t feel right, we’ll talk about it openly, and I can help you find another provider who might be a better fit.

I draw from Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Sessions are collaborative, focusing on insight, emotional regulation, and practical application. You’ll always know the “why” behind what we’re doing.

I often work with trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, and life transitions. I also work with first responders and helping professionals who are used to being the ones others rely on.

We’ll review your progress together and decide when it feels right to slow down, take a break, or transition to check-ins. Some clients return later as new challenges arise. Therapy doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing.

Yes. What you share stays private, except in situations required by law, like when someone is in danger or if there’s abuse or neglect involving a minor or vulnerable adult. We’ll review this thoroughly at intake so you always know your rights and boundaries.

You don’t need to do anything special. Just bring yourself and a willingness to talk about what’s been on your mind. If it helps, jot down a few thoughts about what you’d like to focus on.

Rooted, steady, and human – a path forward.
